Creating your “why”

Salaam wa alaikoum and hi, my loves! As promised, I would come back with some methods I am using to curate this version of myself I want to become and KNOW I can become. This is not just about setting goals or achieving milestones; it’s about a transformation, a journey of becoming “her” – the woman you are destined to be. This is also not about external changes, although it could be a part of it, it’s also about unlocking the boundless energy within, nurturing confidence, and deepening faith.

This is also about creating our “why”. Why do we want to change, why do we feel like this is the time to finally do it. And this is the “why” that we need to keep in mind whenever we lack the motivation. This is the “why” of us putting in the work, even when we don’t want to, even when we’re tired. It gives us direction, fuels our passion, and keeps us focused on what truly matters. Today, we’re diving deep into the heart of your motivations with some introspective questions to help us uncover our “why.”

Knowing why we want to change and why now can provide the clarity and drive we need to transform our vision into reality. So without further ado, here are 15 questions that will help us define our why.

  • What is the core reason behind your desire to change?
    • Reflect on the fundamental motivation driving your wish to transform your life. Is it personal growth, health, relationships, career, or something else?
  • How will this change impact your life in the long term?
    • Think about the future. What positive outcomes do you foresee from making this change? How will your life improve?
  • What pain or discomfort are you trying to move away from?
    • Identify any negative feelings, situations, or habits you are eager to leave behind. How has this pain motivated you to seek change?
  • What joy or fulfillment are you hoping to move towards?
    • Consider the positive emotions and experiences you want to embrace. What does happiness look like to you?
  • Why is this change important to you right now?
    • Reflect on the urgency or timing. Why is now the perfect moment for this transformation? What has shifted in your life to prompt this change?
  • What are the consequences of not making this change?
    • Visualize the potential negative outcomes if you remain where you are. How would your life be affected if you don’t take action?
  • How does this change align with your core values?
    • Identify how your desire to change fits with your most important principles and beliefs. How will this change help you live more authentically?
  • Who will benefit from this change besides you?
    • Think about the broader impact of your transformation. How will your family, friends, community, or even the world benefit?
  • What legacy do you want to leave behind?
    • Consider the long-term impact you want to have on others. How does this change contribute to the legacy you want to create?
  • What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve this change?
    • Reflect on the trade-offs you are prepared to make. What comforts or habits are you ready to give up to reach your goal?
  • What strengths and resources can you leverage to make this change?
    • Identify your unique skills, talents, and resources. How can they support your journey?
  • How will this change enhance your sense of purpose?
    • Consider how this transformation will contribute to your overall sense of meaning and direction in life.
  • What specific goals will help you measure your progress?
    • Set clear, actionable milestones. Remember the wheel of life and the different categories? What are the main goals you want to achieve for each category? How will you track your achievements and stay motivated?
  • Who can support you in this journey, and how?
    • Identify the people who can provide encouragement, advice, or assistance. How will you involve them in your journey?
  • What will success look and feel like once you’ve achieved this change?
    • Visualize your end goal in vivid detail. What will your life look like? How will you feel once you’ve made this transformation?

By answering these questions, we’re not just identifying our reasons for change, we’re building a strong foundation of purpose that will sustain us through the ups and downs of our journey. Take your time with each question and let your answers resonate deeply.

Remember, knowing your “why” is the key to unlocking your best self. It’s the driving force that will keep us focused and inspired, even when the path gets tough. So embrace this journey of self-discovery, and let your “why” guide you to the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Until next time, keep dreaming big and living with intention.

Lots of love,

Nia
